The Sleep Centre

Sleep and Human Health

Good sleep hygiene is important for good physical mental health. Inadequate sleep over the long-term can lead to the onset of mental illnesses like depression and anxiety. Poor sleep habits are associated  with various forms of dementia,  obesity, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease,

Restoring Sleep Rhythm

Many of the patients we see experience far less sleep than the required seven to eight hour. Restoration of their sleep rhythm is an important adjunct to other treatments. Sleep is known to improves happiness and longevity.

Improve Sleep Latency

Sleep latency is the time it takes to fall asleep after you go to bed. The longer the latency of sleep the shorter the phases of sleep. We work with patients to reduce sleep latency and increase the sleep duration.

Increase Sleep Duration

Many of the patients we see with depression and anxiety report approximately four to five hours of sleep each night, or less. Less than seven hours each night leads to symptoms of sleep deprivation, which may include, poor memory, lack of energy, and negative changes in mood.

Meditation For Sleep

Meditation is an ancient practice that can still be observed in many Eastern and African countries. For many, meditation is a way of life that promotes physical and mental health. Through therapeutic meditation patients learn to  quiet their minds, which improves their daily lives.
